There are 2 main types of arthritis, Osteoarthritis(O/A) and Rheumatoid Arthritis(R/A)
Whilst, O/A affects mainly the joint surfaces and approximately 4 Million Uk Citizens, R/A affects the joints and other parts of the bodies of approximately 400,000. O/A is a disease of the joints, R/A is a disease of the body, affecting its connective tissue such as tendons, tendon sheaths, skin and the eyes.
Back Pain, lumbago, back ache is all the same thing. Often though there is not simply pain in the back. Symptoms an occur in other areas such as the buttocks, groin, hips, thigh and legs(sciatica) and feet . Problems in the spine can also cause symptoms such as, pins and needles. symptoms also include, pain or ‘tooth ache’ in the leg and numbness in the leg or foot.

Rehabilitation Therapy can help many patients have very successful surgery but are still uncomfortable or in pain afterwards. Some may still feel that, although they are very much better, they would like some more help and advice.
Sciatica is the name given to any pain that runs down the back of the leg. The sciatic nerve runs from the lower back, pelvis and buttocks, down the back of the legs to the foot and toes. Sciatica can be a very mild ache, to being extremely pain full.
