Treating Scar Tissue

Scars are areas of fibrous tissue that replace normal skin (or other tissue) after injury. A scar results from the physiological process of wound repair in the skin and other tissues of the body. Thus, scarring is a natural part of the healing process. It can be uncomfortable or painfull!!

Treatment of scar tissue may sound like an odd thing to many people, but the sensitivity, discomfort, itching, pulling, raised redness and pain associated with many scars is easily helped with treatment.

Very specific Osteopathic treatment can help many of the complaints associated with scar tissue. Common scars treated include Caesarian sections, scars from abdominal and chest surgery. We have even treated scars in the gums!!!

Steve the clinic director has spent many years treated scar tissue with great results and relief of discomfort and pain for many men and women.

Here is an example of another successful treatment:

Mr A J came in to the the clinic with very painful neck and shoulders, this started about six months after a triple bypass operation. The cause of the neck and shoulder pain was the tight scar tissue on the front of his chest pulling him forward.

He also had a lot of discomfort around the site of the scar tissue itself, it was so sensitive that he was unable to even touch it.

After a course of treatment he could happily touch the scar and his neck and shoulder pain had gone.

In Mr A J's words :-

'I thought 'that was it' and I would have to put up with this pain, I was very grateful after the bypass operation to be alive but I was in so much pain with my neck and over the scar. Thankfully, after Steve treated me, I feel like I am back to normal again. I have my life back, THANKS!!'
