  • Visit your GP if you have not exercised before or have taken a prolonged break
  • Warm up before, and warm down after exercise.
  • Use a personal trainer or coach for correct technique.
  • Take time for rest and recovery.
  • Keep hydrated!
  • Don't work on empty; eat a small meal at least 2 hours before exercising.
  • Listen to your body, if it hurts STOP and seek medical advice.
  • Gradually increase intensity and time of exercise.
  • Wear correct clothing for your sport.
  • Choose sports that compliment each other.
