Top tips for Treating Sporty Children.

If you could help the most important person in your life, would you do it?

I have recently seen a great number of very sporty children between 8-15 with various aches and pains.
They usually come into the clinic in pain, or I see them walking around in the Leisure centres where I run Bodycare Clinic.

They can have poor posture,'.....stand up straight!!!.......' I hear the parents encouraging their offspring.
But, may be they can't.

When children grow, they grow in a non-linear way ie they grow in 'spurts'.
Suddenly they look like young colts, all arms and gangly legs. They can then get some aches and pains in their legs or backs, headaches, you name it. I have heard of kids in so much pain that they are in tears.
''Do not worry'' the caring parent is told, it is just growing pains, they will grow out of it.
But what if you could do something about it.

Here's the boring sciency bit........Kids grow, the bones actually get physically bigger but everyhing else has to stretch, Muscles tendons etc. The nerves grow obviously at the same time but the conections have to be made in the brain. ie it all needs to get wired up!!! That can be a reason why some kids can look very 'coltish'. I can also be why they get very tired, all that growing needs a lot of energy, this is why it is so important to feed kids well.

A lot of children at this age are also playing a lot of sport. How many children do you know that stretch properly before playing sport? The treatment being offered ensures that your children's bodies are assessed and treated and the children come out so much fitter, pain free and stronger.

They also feel more confident because they can run and walk much quicker than before.
