Trapped Nerves


Trapped Nerve pain in arm and handNerves may be trapped in the body at various places.
Pain down the back of the leg (sciatica) can often be an accompanying symptom of low back pain for example.
Nerves may be trapped for a number of different reasons including tight muscles, disc injuries, joint problems.
Symptoms can include pain, pins & needles, numbness, sharp burning pain, loss/change of sensation, muscle weakness or wasting.
The nerve pain can feel like and electric shock running along the length of the nerve, or a hot/burning needle like pain

Nerve entrapment typically can affect the legs, and arms (often accompanied by neck pain), but can also affect the chest where the intercostal nerve (between ribs) can be affected.

 

Conditions include:

  • Cervical Rib
  • Carple Tunnel syndrome
  • Disc injury(back or neck)
  • Femoral nerve entrapment(pain down front of thigh)
  • Radial nerve pain. (Pain in arm)
  • Sciatica(pain down back of leg into foot)
  • Thoracic outlet Syndrome
  • Ulnar nerve entrapment(pain on inside of arm and little fingers)
